Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home which has a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence cash flow isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South nsfas check African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are nsfas status check reminded to offer the proper Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply website timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
